Black Diamond Land + Cattle offers premium horse boarding nestled on our 1,700-acre property in the foothills outside of Calgary. Our thoughtfully designed facility provides top-quality care and all the amenities desired by both horse and rider. With 24/7 on-property management, you can rest easy knowing your equine partner is in expert hands.

Whether you train or lesson with one of our English or Western riding coaches, join the polo club or just enjoy going for a hack, you will join a warm and friendly equestrian community that welcomes all levels.

All applications include a boarding contract, horse care briefing with staff, and requirement of Alberta Equestrian Federation membership for insurance purposes.

Donna O’Reilly
Riding Instructor
Donna has been competing in and coaching Team Penning and Working Cow Horse in the Millarville area for the last 30 years. Her most recent accolades include 2022 CTPA High Point Open Rider and receiving the 2022 Deb Thompson Memorial Horsemanship Award. Donna specializes in training team penning horses, working cow horses, and their riders for competition.

Deanna Paton
Riding Instructor

Deanna is the third generation of an equine family that has been boarding and training horses for over 50 years. From learning to muck stalls as a kid to competing at Spruce Meadows, Deanna is passionate about equestrian life. She has ridden under the guidance of coaches and riders like Lisa Carlsen, Dayton Gorsline, Frank Selinger and clinicians, Jay Hayes, Yann Candele, and George Morris. Her students are equipped with the fundamentals of horsemanship to provide the best care and success for their equine partners.

Natalie Weichel
Riding Instructor & Trainer
Natalie began working with horses at the age of seven, competing as a youth before completing her Equine Science degree at Olds College. She then moved to Texas where she had the opportunity to learn techniques and train with some of the top reining trainers, including Craig Johnson. Following her time in Texas, Natalie moved back to Saskatchewan to open her own training operation, Whispering Sands Training Centre. Besides training and showing, Natalie also gives riding lessons to casual riders, non-pro and youth competitors.
